The Work of Elul

The month of Elul invites us to turn inwards and then outwards, to give attention to the ways in which our inner lives connect to the ways in which we show up in the world. In this special four-class series, we will use Jewish texts - ancient and contemporary - poetry, reflective writing exercises, and personal intention setting to move us into the new year of 5782.

Using a framework from the High Holiday liturgy, each session will serve as a mini-workshop to explore key questions: How am I showing up in the world? What do I need to let go of? What can I make more central in my life? Which qualities of being do I want to deepen in the year ahead? Who would I like to forgive?
